Government to move on school meals

29 Sep 2005

The Education Secretary, Ruth Kelly, says junk food is no longer to be allowed in vending machines in schools, and that cheap processed meat products used in kitchens will go by this time next year. The Government is due to publish the full findings of the school meals review panel next week. The panel was set up in May by Miss Kelly to produce draft rules for reductions in salt, sugar and fat in school meals.
