Natural fibre source ?could improve nutrition?

Research at Newcastle University suggests that a seaweed extract good make junk and processed foods healthier. Scientists write in Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition that alginate, which is tasteless, would increase fibre content. They add that it could be used as an anti-obesity treatment, because it causes as feeling of fullness in the stomach. It is already in common use as a gelling agent.
