Children's crisp addiction carries severe health warnings

On average, nearly a fifth of UK Children eat two packets of crisps a day. This means their average yearly consumption of oil could be as much as five litres. The study, by The British Heart Foundation wants to expose the high quantity of hidden salt, fat and sugar in foods commonly eaten daily. BHF medical director Professor Peter Weissberg said, “Daily unhealthy snacking is a worrying habit. Rising rates of childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes paint a particularly grim picture.”
