KFC has stopped using trans fats in the cooking of all but a handful of foods at its US restaurants. The firm says it will replace them with a low-linolenic-acid soyabean oil by the end of April, but has not set a date for the same change at its 711 outlets in the UK. A spokeswoman for KFC’s British arm said, “KFC UK is actively working on alternative oil options with the goal of eliminating trans fats as soon as possible.”
