Probiotic products "are often short on live bateria"

Probiotics sold over the counter often contain too few live bacteria to be effective, according to a report from [health and nutrition product tester] ConsumerLab.com. The firm?s analysis of 13 brands of probiotics found that 9 contained at least 1 billion viable organisms per dose, the amount considered necessary for effectiveness.
