Advert ban "ineffective"

Which? says the government?s action on the advertising to children of junk food will not be effective, because the programmes most watched by children will not be covered by the regulations. Its research, carried out during a two-week period in October, shows that the most-watched programme that would be liable to a junk food ad ban had 170,000 child viewers, whereas Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Coronation Street garner 1.1 million and 800,000 young viewers respectively.
