Eating whole grains and high-fibre foods may reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer by as much as 40 per cent, according to research at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr June Chan and colleagues say the difference is noticeable between adults eating two or more servings of whole grains each daily and those eating ate less. Dr Chan says it is possible that grains in the diet may also help in the prevention of diabetes and heart disease. The results appear in the American Journal of Epidemiology.
