"Cut out processed meat"

31 Mar 2008

The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has recommended that the consumption of cooked red meat be restricted to 17.6oz of cooked red meat a week and that processed meat be avoided altogether. Professor Martin Wiseman, medical and scientific adviser to the WCRF, says there is convincing evidence of a link between processed meats and cancer. In this context “processed meat” includes minced meat if it has been preserved with salt or chemical additives.
