Compounds found in green tea may help ward off the neurological damage that can come with sleep apnoea, according to the results of a study in the US. A team at the University of Kentucky reports in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine that antioxidants protect rats’ brains during periods of oxygen deprivation designed to mimic the effects of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA).
