Supplements "affect cancer treatment"

28 May 2008

Vitamin supplements could reduce the effectiveness of some cancer treatments, according to research results published in the [US] Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Dr Brian Lawenda and colleagues say their review of evidence from a number of trials suggests antioxidant supplements may be associated with reduced survival rates, and add that they have “serious concerns” about the potential for harm.
