Can diet help older women have children?

28 Jul 2008

Diet could play role in the ease with which older women conceive children, according to a nutritionist. Sarah Dobbyn, author of The Fertility Diet, says the influence of diet is often overlooked, and claims that there are measures women can take to “pause” the age-related decline in fertility. Among the dietary restrictions she recommends are the progressive cutting out of meat, artificial sweeteners, alcohol, caffeine, soya, peas and rhubarb. IVF specialists have expressed doubt about how effective the diet would be.
