Child obesity - an early influence

Over-eating and early obesity in children may be caused by in utero brain changes resulting from a mother’s high-fat diet, according to research at Rockefeller University in New York. The results, which appear in the Journal of Neuroscience, may explain why obesity rates have risen so much in recent years, say the scientists, led by Dr Sarah Leibowitz.
