More evidence of anti-cancer properties

It appears the cruciferous vegetables offer heavy smokers some protection from cancer. Li Tang, of Roswell Park Cancer Institute, in the US, says people who eat cruciferous vegetables, especially raw, are between 20 and 55 per cent less likely to have cancer, or be screened for it, than those who rarely or never eat them. The results are based on a sample of 948 cancer patients and 1,743 people being screened for cancer who turned out not to have it. Tang reported her team’s findings at a recent meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research.
